For a comfortable mammogram
- Schedule your appointment during the first 2 weeks of your menstrual cycle when breasts are not as sensitive.
- Reduce caffeine consumption one week prior to your exam.
- If you have had discomfort during previous mammograms, consider taking an over-the-counter pain medication an hour or so before the procedure.
- Advise your technologist if you have experienced discomfort with prior mammograms.
